Outdoor School Instructor

- 1 Year fixed term contract (with possibility of extending)
- Salary: Unqualified Teacher Scale (£16,136 - £25,520) dependant on experience
The Quay School is a progressive educational establishment that supports young people through difficult times in their lives. Our different sites provide for very different needs and we are currently looking to employ an instructor to help set up and run an outdoor adventurous activity focused curriculum for 11-16 year olds. The students you will be working with have been excluded from mainstream school or are at risk of permanent exclusion and have behaviour, emotional and social issues.

We are looking for an instructor with a particular interest in teaching the most vulnerable students; including those with behaviour, emotional and social issues. The role will involve leading, planning and developing ‘out-of-the-classroom’ learning within the Quay School using a wide range of outdoor activities.
The successful applicant will be a highly motivated and flexible individual who can form positive relationships with students with a wide range of special needs in order to make a difference for some of the most vulnerable adolescents across Poole and surrounding areas.
We are looking for someone who holds at least 3 relevant NGB’s (BCU Level 2, SPA, ML, GNAS etc). Teaching/youth work qualifications would be desirable, as well as a D1 entitlement and the potential to teach BTEC qualifications.
