"What I enjoy most about working at The Quay School is that no two days are the same. It takes hard work and is always challenging with our students but when everything comes together I find it incredibly rewarding to see them engage and make progress. Last but not least is that all our staff get on really well and clearly support each other, something I find invaluable in the workplace."
Jack Galloway - Outdoor School Teacher, The Quay School
"I became The Quay School English teacher in April 2012 after working for them on a supply basis for 6 months. I felt that I belonged in the TQS family where we enjoyed the challenge of working with vulnerable students across four sites. Now I am the curriculum leader for one of those sites and love working with the dedicated and supportive staff. The senior team at The Quay School have supported my progression from teacher to middle leader and last year I achieved my NPQML professional qualifications. I feel like a valued member of staff with multiple progression opportunities opening up as the school continues to grow and develop."
Jo Gimson - Curriculum Area Leader, The Quay School
"I have worked at The Quay School for 8 years and almost every year has offered a new challenge! I started working in the service as a teaching assistant, moving onto a learning mentor role after a year. Supporting students and helping them achieve is something I have always loved doing, and so this led naturally into becoming an outreach worker, working with many children across the Borough of Poole struggling within school. Last year I finally took the plunge and completed my PGCE through the University of Exeter with The Quay School as my main placement. I am now completing my NQT year at The Quay School and loving every minute. I have also been given the opportunity of studying for an MA, which I am two thirds of the way through. Working here, you definitely don't get the chance to grow stagnant."
